Faith
What good is it my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith, but do not have works? Can faith save you? If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill," and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith. James 2: 14-18

To walk the talk. There should be no contradictions between my faith life and my social/professional life. Anyone who knows me should be able to see my faith from my words, actions, deeds. I submit myself totally to God and I let him guide everything that I say and do. In this way I show ultimate faith in Him and in His word. I believe that I live for a purpose and that my ultimate goal is to live forever in God's presence.
God could create heaven on earth all alone, but he "...has chosen to wait upon human cooperation....God takes us into partnership and graces us...with capcity to respond by living as people of God. Groome, p.21
The following attachments represent reflections on how I demonstrate my Catholic Christian beliefs.

A note about my posting of "Lectio Divina"
At the time of the writing of this assignment, I was concentrating on St. Paul's writings. I took the passage with me to Haiti, but, what I ended up praying as my own personal Lectio Devina were the words: "I am your instrument Lord, use me to do your will." These were easier to take with me in my head as I worked everyday and I came to rely on these words as encouragment at many times of weakness and selfishness.

I was only one of a group of more than 500 people who put their Faith into Action in November. Witnesses to the power of the Holy Spirit as we toiled together to build safe shelter for some very desperate people. (Santo, Haiti 11/11)

Sister Pauline Lally is living Christ's message today. She is calling us all to action.

I had the opportunity to volunteer in Haiti. The experience was a culmination of my personal journey into social justice and trying to make a difference in the world.

Walking the talk means to recognize when we have sinned and to be able to celebrate all of the Sacraments with faith.
